Have a box that I need to port. the box is going to be for a pair of Re Re 12"s. The box is around 3.65 cubes and I need to know what size and length of port. The port needs to be a round port as the box is not a symetrical rectangular box. Thanks.

use a 4" tube. 3" for two twelves is gonna be quite the small port, lots of air-flow noise with that.

id really suggest somthing bigger, preferably a slot port... mind posting a picture of your box? im sure you can incorperate a slot port man.

if your box is like this, its still a regular rectangular\square cubic box. just gotta make a port outta wood, slide it in place, and attach it is all. it will be a little work, but not hard really.

whats the cubic area, and the LxWxH of each cube there? id really like a picture of YOUR box tho... if you have one, go to http://www.imageshack.us - and browse for your pic, hit HOST IT and find the url they supply with in it, and post it here.

that way we can see what its like. and also- is it a single large chamber? or two seperate ones like the box you posted?

I will get pics as soon as I can. Na, it is like 9 deep at the back and 11 deep in the front so it isn't a true rectangle. Both subs share one large chamber in the box I have. Sorry, I guess it isn't so much like the one in the pic.

well dont forget. the port dosnt have to be on the 'side' of the box. it can be on the top, bottom, even floating, or maybe down the center. it all depends. but you will most definatly have to do a little box modding in order to get a slot port in there.

get me some measurments, and some pics. and i can tell ya what to build and where to put it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

almost certain.

Sorry, having a hard time getting my camera to work. I think I will just go with a round port. How wide should I go? One or two ports? length? thanks

Just want to check before cutting, I Have one 3" port at 3.6"? That sounds kind of short to me but that is what the programs call for. Should I have 2 ports by chance?

yes, but i dont check these threads all the time, i typically loose them on accident //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

if you have ONE 3" diamater (for 2 RE RE12's @ 3.65 for both) the port will be about 3.6" long *not recommended*

if you have TWO PORTS 3" diamater (for 2 RE RE12's @ 3.65 for both) the ports will be 9.3" long each **recommended**

if you have EACH SUB IN A SEPERATE BOX (3.65 divided by 2 = 1.824 per sub) the port will be 3.6" long **recommended**

assuming a tuning of roughly 30hz.

i would recommend having 2 ports - preferably in between the two speakers (if they are in the same enclosure)

but i would rather recommend two 4" ports. but its your call.
