ok, say i have a enclosure that is 32x32x14 and want to add a removable port, what size/length would said port have to be to tune the enclsure to 36hz?
hmmm...... it says that for my box that is: 6.72 cu. ft. only needs a port of 6" tall by 12" wide and 15.25" long to obtain a port tuning of 36hz......that doesnt seem right to me.....what do you guys think?
Whoops - my bad. I calculated using 42" and not 32" - sorry about that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Your total gross volume is 8.3 cubes
Power input will determine overall mach speed of your port, so I used an arbitrary number of 1000 watts.
Port volume takes about 1 cube, so your net volume is 7.3 cubes. You can round that off to 7 cubes taking driver and bracing displacement into account.
So, is you use 88 square inches of port 18.5 inches long you will be fine.
Hmm... Well, you can calculate it to whatever dimension you wish. However, if the dimensions you gave equate to length = 32" and width = 32", then you can do a slot port 2.75" x 32" x 18.5" deep.
