Port help with Fiberglass

I am going to start building my enclosure next week and I am really only stumped on putting a port in my fiberglassed enclosure. I have one Kicker L5 15" at 1 ohm. I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse and I believe I want a box at 3.5 ft^3 at 40Hz. I'd also like to use PVC piping. I really just need port length and diameter. Thanks in advance.

well i was planning on using PVC pipe, so would i just use a 4x12 piece?

You'll want more port area than a single 4" PVC will give you unless you are only running a small amount of power to the sub. Otherwise plan on 2-3 ports.

Well i have 1600Watts running to my sub. I don't mind putting in a few ports, I just don't know enough about it and I don't know anybody that can help me.

as soon as i get my autocad running i'll draw up what im working with. since i am working in the trunk of my eclipse, i had to take a couple different measurements as if there were 2 boxes because of the wheel wells and a cross support. i'll also take some pictures when its daylight. i really hope somebody can help me, i just never really understood porting.
