Which type of port is louder and what is the best way to aim it in my trunk? Which way should the subwoofer fire for it to be louder?

In a trunk ive seen most firing forward and port to drivers side to be a good start...but not for every car

Single 15 in a 4^3 box tuned to 33hz with 1000rms going to it. The way the box sits now both sub and port are firing back cause my power wire isnt long enough to turn the box around. Also I dont like how the box fits the trunk cause I had this system in my previous car. Looking to build a new box and want to set it up right.

if its in a trunk then go with sub and port back. Sub up port back sounds like shit in a trunk.

well, actually it isn't HORRIBLE..

my last setup (15" HD3) in a Cavalier only allowed sub up, port back.. it was loud. sounded very good.

would sub back port forward be fine? (subs: two 10s, ports: 3"round, tuned to approx 35hz)

subs up, port forward/backward (vehicle dependent)

i think sub and port firing back sounds better. i havent tried it with my new box because it sounds great sub and port back so im not gonna change it, but when i had a cheapo prefab in my eclipse it sounded better when i had them firing back rather than forward.
