Yesterday, i got my stuff put in at a local stereo shop. They did a pretty good job mounting everything, but whenever i change the station, or turn on my headunit or change eq settings and turn up the volume, i keep hearing this loud pop from my speakers and sub. The shop said that it is because the amp is cheap and doesn't have a built in turn on pop thingy(whatever they said), but the amps i got are a brand new Cadence Q3000(running front speakers) and a Viper 1200.1(running subs). The headunit is a Panasonic CQ8100U. Also got engine whine noise and static coming out of speakers. Got an 02 Acura TL. Can anybody please help??

They took care of you with a wonderfully bad grounding spot...Find somewhere better to ground your stuff, and try to ground it in ONE place if possible within ~18" of the amp...

they did a shitty job installing it. check and make sure the HU is grounded correctly, make sure the amps are grounded correctly

and by correctly - that means nice bolted and crimped wires to solid metal - that si BARE METAL, no paint, grease, fingerprints. nothing.

that would be the first line of action. if they say your amps are cheap, they are complete idiots. and your shit shouldnt be making any popping. tell them to fix it. or ask for your money back.

Better yet.......if they installed it, take it back and have them fix it. They can and will fix it....it is not something you just need to "live with" (so don't let them pull that crap)

As mentioned, the problem is likely caused by a bad ground; either a poor headunit ground or a poor amp ground. Make them check it out and fix the problem.

Okay, well i took it back to the shop today. They checked it out and they said that the grounds are okay. The shop is called Safe and Sound owned by this white guy with like 4 Peurto ricans doing the installs. He said that my amp is cheap(Cadence Q3000) and doesn't have the noise blockout filters built in them. He said that he know's a dude that can open up the amp and put some resistors or something in there to cut down the noise. Then another Peurto Rican guy comes over and say's it' my headunit(Panasonic CQ8100U). I still got the noises, but im tired of dealing with them. Somebody please help me!!!!!!!!!!What should i do??? I paid those ******s $200 to rewire my Acura TL and install 2 amps and $45 for a noise filter to still have noise!!!I think i got screwed. Im very mad right now. Im only 20 years old but i learned a very valuable lesson, if you gonna do something, do it right the first time and go to a REAL audio shop. Can you all please tell me someplace to go to get this fixed?? I live in MD, close to fedex field in Lanham. Surrounding cities are Bowie, Laurel, Annapolis, DC and so on. Thanks for everybody's input

So what does the installers being "Peurto ricans" have to do with anything? Are you trying to imply that a "Peurto rican" can't install a system properly. Maybe their to stupig huh?!?

By the way the correct spelling is Puerto Rican!

Oh my god he wasn't implying anything retards. Jump off the racist boat.

I would make the shop fix the problem. I would not leave untill they fix it. A shop can't just say no. They either fix the problem(which is not your amps) or give you your money back. Don't get screwed. Don't take no for an answer.
