Poor Sirius XM Sound Quality

I have the SIRIUS SCC1 Connect Universal Tuner, JVC KS SRA100 Interface, and a JVC KW HDR81BT head unit. The sound quality of music channels that should be clean and crisp is poor. They sound "tinny" and compressed like the talk channels do. Where did I go wrong?

do you have the jvc digital interface installed? is the deck digital ready?

It's the tuner. Had it on 3 different decks and sounded awful. The new style tuner is a great improvement in sq.

Thanks all! The equipment listed is all that I have installed. The antenna is mounted center, just above the windshield. The antenna lead is run around the windshield under the weatherstripping, into the engine compartment and through the firewall rubber grommet with the other bundle of cables. Other people had had good luck with this installation method. I'll check into the latest model head unit.
