Event:

Hooking up an amp

Issue:

Both leads (+/-) are red

Result:

Positive connected to ground, ground connected to positive

Effect:

Amp still lights up, but doesn't make sound.

verdict: you have a problem

Best case - there's a fuse or diode protecting against reverse polarity.

Worst case - you took out a MOSFET or two.
