Pontiac 3.1 liter, need more power!! Help!!!

Get new headers, 20-35 HP and 30-40 lbs of added torque, thats the way to go for just a couple of hundred bucks, plus your car will roar... flowmasters too good way to finds some HP

if you want to stay n/a id say try to find some underdrive pullies, if you know anything about cars the p&p if done yourself on the intake(s?) and heads with a new set or headers and exaust will do ok if you throw on a cold or ram air setup and stay realitivly cheap considering your other option is a blower. . also if you wanted to do a forced induction id say try to find if they make turbos for your car they make tons of rwtq and thats always fun

lol, yeah, right. no set of headers will gain you 20-35 hp. at most, 15hp, 20 torque. and in some situations, a new set of headers could actually decrease the hp and torque, like if i got long tubes on my near stock mustang. long tubes are needed for 400+ hp.

well first of all, did he get it dynoed or is he just guessing?

it could be due to many other things. second, did he get it dynoed before he put the headers on, and on the same day that he put the new headers on? temperature and humidity definately affect performance as well, and could be worth 10hp or so in some conditions. depends on if they were shorty's, equal length, or long tubes. and ceramic coating helps a bit since there's less heat escaping back into the engine/intake/etc.
