well then, i feel now that my opinion is worthless, and that hurts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gifI mean I already bought the 36sqft pack and installed it and im perfectly happy with it... I just wanted to see what some other internet people thought. I dont really listen to other people, I take what they say and compare it to multiple sources before ever making a purchase. I spent about 3-4 months designing the system that I just installed and I got one hell of a price.
Amen to that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifSecond Skin is the single best deadening company on the market. /thread
so After reading this twice...I believe 36 sqft of dynamat extreme is well worth the 96$ that I paid for it. On second skins website the Damplifier Pro is about $160 for 40sqft w/o shipping. All your questions can be answered here...

i do believe the damplifier is much thicker than the dynamat tho. Tis wat i heard thoso After reading this twice...I believe 36 sqft of dynamat extreme is well worth the 96$ that I paid for it. On second skins website the Damplifier Pro is about $160 for 40sqft w/o shipping.
There are several other differences actually.13 mils thicker... 67 vs 80... I still dont believe its worth $60 + shipping charges. Just My opinion.
That was a very good and honest post. I thank you for your time for responding in this thread. Ill probably go ahead and buy some second skin later on down the line if I ever do a really really serious install.Dynamat Extreme is a great product. For $96 shipped you should eat it up all day long.

If you are going to compare anything to DE, it should be our entry level product Damplifier, which is closer in quality.
Thickness is a decent measurement to go by but it does not tell the entire story.
Density of a product is where it is at.
We can make Damplifier 2.5 mm thick (100 mils) simply by removing a defoaming agent in the formula of the butyl and expanding the extruder some. This will allow more air bubbles to build up in the formula and will thicken up the product. The weight will however be the same at any thickness we want. So basically thickness not the best data to measure by, though it is important. Density related to foil thickness, matched up with viscosity and heat resistance is the ultimate combination of CLVED success.
Check out the true, unpublished specs on Damplifier Pro -
.63 lbs per sq foot net (without the paper liner)
500 degree heat rating
6 mils of foil..
So even though 36 sq feet is 36 sq feet, you get a lot more with 36 sq feet of Damplifier Pro that with 36 sq feet of most other products.
Hope that helps
On a side note, a great product that is very affodable is raammat BXT. Rick is a hell of a guy and you can't go wrong with his product!
