polk vs. PG

i was originally going to get the polk db6501 for my front stage but the place on ebay ran out. so i was looking for some new comps and i came across some phoenix gold comps. they are fairly cheap and seem to put out decent amount of power. i was wondering if any one ever used the octane-r or the octane-zr series and how did you like it? thanks.

From what I hear, especially on this forum, is that the PG RSDs are a pretty nice comp set and pretty popular too!

These will be better than the Octane line, i think the Polk DBs are better than the Octanes, but against the RSDs idk, ive never heard em, but they look just as good, maybe even better lol

80, 100, 120, even more. They'll take it. As with any speakers, don't sent a distorted and/or clipped signal to them.

i'd sell you my old Polk Momo 6.5" component set for that much. They've been used..and the crossovers aren't the momo's their arc crossovers (the polk ones got stolen).

But still. PM me if your interested.

But the db line of polk is so-so. Momo's are better, then the SR's are very nice. PG seems like a popular choice.

I'd also look into the 07' Alpine Type-R's and the Pioneer Rev's. Both are good inexpensive comp sets.

Theres a guy on this forum that got those RSDs and he loves em, but i thought id just throw those MBs out there although they are out of stock theyre deff somethin to consider, but i think those PGs will satisfy ya and you'll be happy!

I have a set of pg in the rear doors of my truck and I am very impressed, especially at the price. I haven't heard any speakers come close for the money.
