polk mm6501 vs polk db6501

I'm looking at buying some components to upgrade from rockford t1 6.5 coaxials. Im looking at polk mm6501 and polk db6501. is the extra cost of the mm6501 worth the cost?

yep... if you install them properly. that means seals, baffles, etc. no drop-in replacement will sound great.

not saying there aren't better speakers for the price of the MM, but the upgrade is worth it.

So what would you recommend at the same price? I was looking at rockford fosgate t1/t2 and also the orion hcca componets what do you think?

Yes, they are worth it over the DBs but at the price point you can get better than the MMs.

Image Dynamics CTX and JBL MS come to mind.

I've got MMs all around and I love em. Couldn't be happier. Of course I bought them for $200 new for the fronts then $200 for the rear 6x9s new. Thw y are incredible sounding speakers.

never mind on the price, i was thinking of the $400 Momo comps of old. For $200 you can get the MMC6501 which are great in that price range. I liked the older MM6500 as well.

Even crutchfield says it would be hard to find a better sounding speake r then the MMs so that has to say something for em right? Lol
