Polk fan but just heard this......

So first I'll start by saying I know there is better than polk but long story short I have all polk in my car and I jus always liked the sound of Polk. Then this weekend we were Xmas shopping and I heard some alpine type s and was shocked at the mid bass and overall sound best one the whole board. It got me wondering and I started comparing the type s and type R 6.5 to my Polk db and it really confused me because in everyday shape and form the specs put Polk way ahead so I really want to try out these type R alpine I need to know how they would sound. I've never used alpine idk how they are but I really like the design and the ring radiator tweeter on it. Anyone own type r speakers and or heard them compared to polk?

The amount of midbass you get is going to depend a lot more on how you have treated your doors. Proper sound deadening, along with sealing up any holes in the door will provide much more midbass, and overall better sound, than switching from polks to alpines.

Most hate the new type R.

Anyway don't judge a speaker by a board. You have no idea EQ they are using and our environment is totally different.
