How good are the CDT comps??

Thinking of buying a pair of the HD-60s mainly because of their high RMS rating (170 each side) but ive heard mixed reviews on them. What im looking for is a set of comps that can get real loud and sound decent while doing it. more concerned with volume than sound quality. I also do not care a lot about midbass. The 6.5s will be in deadened doors and the tweet in the stock location off axis. any input on this set of speakers is appreciated. (and i dont need that guy that sells them to come post and tell me how good they are haha)

The hd 61a is the good decent set. As well as the hd62cf if you want the high end then look at the Es models The xover point is the main thing. To take that power per side. They must be crossed at 120 hertz with a clean signal

are there any other components in the $300 range that get louder or sound better?

Also why are the hd62cf's are rated at only 80 rms when the slightly cheaper hd 60 is rated at 170 rms?

Those sets are really old stock. Cdt sells closeouts to woofers etc only after the new stuff comes in and also after any cdt sales are over. And what's left goes to them sometimes as is no warranty from cdt the hybrid set is prolly 5 years old at least. But it a pre set before the hd 62cf set with a nicer tweeter. Which also has been improved The cl set us the older red basket set I'm pretty sure since woofers hasn't bought any new cdt stuff in 4 years that I know of. And still no warraranty because they are not authorized. So in laymans terms older sets not up to cdts standards as of now

My old CDT HD 62s didn't get as loud as I had originally expected or thought...but when I look back they really sounded great (SQ wise). But to each his own, if volume is your thing then go for it - not with CDTs

the ES -06 woofers get really loud, with CDT equipment i'd recommend running active and ditching the passive crossovers. I wish I never sold them I want to try them out again properly this time.

PHD fb 6.1 pros are also a great sounding set that can get loud for around that budget. There is a pair of RE XXX neodymium components on Caraudioclassified going for 150 dollars shipped and those can get hella loud and nice sounding too which is a killer deal.

Mr. Jim may sell CDT but I have seen him push many other brands that he does not carry so IMO Mr. Jim IMO is unbiased and he knows his sh it like few really do so listen to him.

Just member if u have to cross above 120hz. Now ask your self can my sub play up to 120hz with any type of authority?? So now you got a massive gap between 60-80hz to 120hz that will not be played....

Example - My sub plays from 25hz up to 65hz then my 6.5's are crossed at 70hz to 4200khz then my tweets are crossed at 4200khz and higher. From personal exp I love the way it sounds some will say don't cross speakers at same kHz but I have played with it and for my car and gear its what works..

If you dnt care about SQ just volume grab a set of Supers and a set of Pro Audio mids and run them active. Choose the right combo and you can get extremely loud. SQ will suffer but if set correctly it will be minimal. I use to run a pair of ST350 supers with my current mids and it was loud as balls.. But I do care somewhat about SQ so I sold the ST's bought 4 Seas neo tweets and not only are they louder they sound so much better doing it and was very easy to integrate into my system without cutting holes to fit massive supers.. Never had much luck with pre made comp sets they just could never offer what I was after when using "the passives" they come with. Going active woke them up a good bit but at that point mine as well piece together ur own comp set using better drivers for much less then.
