This is going into a honda s2000 with a jl 10w6v2, jl 500.1, and a pioneer p880prs head unit.

I won't have an amp for the components, so it'll just be running off the deck.

My budget is like 150. Its down to these 4.

-Polk MMC6500

-DIAMOND AUDIO D661

-Polk db6501

-JL AUDIO VR650

I just need to know which would I get the most out of if I'm not hooking it up to an amp.

will i be able to run the momos ok just off a head unit and no amp?
Certainly. You can run any of those off HU power... and they'll all be less than satisfactory compared to externally amping them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

They'll still sound pretty good with an aftermarket headunit right?

Yes, they'll sound decent. But do yourself a favor and be sure to approach it with less than stellar expectations. An amp will definitely make a night and day difference vs HU power.

any reccommendations on amps that won't cost me an arm and a leg? I'm thinking about picking up a used jl. would the 300/4 or the 300/2 be better? my car is a 2 seater, so theres only speakers on the doors.

I'd recommend the Polk Momo's and biamp them with a 4 channel amp. What's your budget for an amp?
200 is my budget, but thats pushing it because I just bought a JL 10w6v2, JL 500/1, and the pioneer p880prs.

I probably won't buy an amp until I can find a used one at a good price.

So why did the guy above you recommend a 2 channel, but you recommend a 4 channel. What is the difference?

A 4 channel amp will allow you to biamp the Momo's (use 2 channels for the mids and 2 channels for the tweeters).

Here's a very decent deal: Infinity 7541a

I'd recommend that since I can vouch for it. Only drawback is, it's pretty huge (12" x 15" x 2.75"). Unless you can score a sweet deal on an Alpine PDX-4.100 or 4.150 (very tiny), an Eclipse XA4000 (little bit bigger), or a JBL PX300.4 (also kinda large).
