Point in dampening?

But louder inside? Dont see how that works
If you lower the noise floor (ie rattles, road/engine noise etc. etc.) you need less volume to essentially have the same as you perceived before. I don't know if that makes sense, but there are other befits as well.

Define "dampening."
I will make this blunt, so I dont have to spoon-feed too much because I forgot the bib //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

All that vibration that is moving your panels is energy that is being wasted. Stop the resonance you get more energy going to your speakers more efficiently. Louder you'll get without sending more power.

Im not quite sure I see the point in dampening. If you want louder music, why would you want to quiet it down?
adding dampener can help block outside noise, helping it be louder inside, it also adds weight to the panels, help keeping the panels from flexing/losing pressure to help it be louder and also helps stop rattles etc

ever look behind a door skin, the door is full of holes

Ohh okay. I thought flexing was the cool thing to do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
