hey guys i wana build a box for four low rms 8s mayb 400rms to 500rms . subs up port back tune to 30. there will b bracing etc done no dubble baffle can i use plywood cuz for me to buy a few sheets of mdf at 10.00 thats gona run me at least 50-65.00. box gona b around 3 cubic feet or so after port and sub's. thanks my p ussy loving americans

I luz teh pussyz0r..... and no. Not if you want a decent box. Plywood is not as dense as MDF and thus it will resonante easier and cancel your bass. You'd better give it SEVERAL layers of that stuff, and then you've spend as much as mdf. Just do it right the first time.

Only way I would use plywood is if I doubled up every side and even then MDF would be better...shit just flexes too much. Just stop being a little bitch and buy the MDF already.

Just use a cardboard box and put sound deadner on the inside, would be just as effective.

Plywood is fine for a properly built box. There's nothing magical about MDF. Especially for a low powered setup, there is no reason to double up the sides either. Plywood is considerably stronger than MDF and material density is irrelevant.

Not sure why you can't get the box built with a single sheet of whatever material you choose. You can build a 3cf sealed box with less than half a sheet.

i cant get home a full sheet. tiburon ftl so only those smaller sheets. 6 sides so mayb 4-6 sheets wth enough for a amp rack, and a battery box for my battery lol

more like 34. and my luck i get it cut they would f it and still not fit. let me get the subs then ram can come up with my cuts he helped with my single 8 tune to 30.

I got a a sheet of 3/4 and a sheet of 1/2 inch in my ion not much bigger or smaller then a tibby

Rent a UHaul pickup. I did that once to get some MDF. It was a little under 30$
