Plugging a subwoofer into a wall outlet....

What happens if I take the wires from my sub, wire them to a wall outlet plug and plug it in? Will it blow? Explode? Start a huge ass fire?

I don't know, I'm about to buy a radio shack sub and plug that bad boy into the wall...hehe

I have done it SO MANY TIMES!!!! It will burp at 60Hz untill the coil fries. A good sub will last a while. The best way is to put the sub on the floor(magnet up) and watch it dance!! I had Kicker comp that lasted like 5 seconds. I also had a Diamond Audio but that one lasted about 3 minutes. Provided the subwoofer is 8 ohms or more, your breaker won't pop too fast, and you'll get around 1500+ watts RMS of 60hz information.

I've got four Radio Shack subs I bought at a garage sale for 10 bucks....is there any danger in hooking on all 4 up to the same plug to blow all of them at once? Or should i go one at a time?

2 at a time....in series, this way you woun't trip a breaker.
