Plexiglass?

Say I want to put plexiglass on the back of my sub box so I could see inside the box and look at the subs. My question will it affect my sound quality? I mean, is it as good as mdf for making a box? Also how would I seal it to the box?

its supposed to be just as good, as long as you use 1/2 inch or thicker.

In my bok i used 1.2 inch plexi and its sounds just as good as my freidns all iddi is router into 3/4 inch mdf and sicloned and screwed in form the baack and sealed the top on and i havnet had any problems yet

If the thickness is right for the power your pushing and the size of the panel, you can't hear a difference. You can either recess it from the front or the back. From the back looks cleaner imho. I've seen peopl use spartec acrylic, its a LOT stronger then plexi glass so you can use thinner pices and its a lot clearer too. Just another option for you guys, i have no idea on how much it costs though.

On the subject of plexiglass.... Can you form it? (I'm always looking to do something different.) Say for example, building a enclosure that has "rounded" sides but want to maintain the transparency of plexiglass. No specific design in mind, just brainstorming. I would think that if you were using thicker material, heating it up would burn it or discolor it before it would become pliable enough to form.

Any thoughts??
