Plexiglass Question????

Yeah, they don't make the stronger polycarbonated plexi in 3/4, only the acrylic comes in 3/4. The thickest of the poly is 1/2, would that work with the 3/4 MDF, probably will go with 1" MDF? Any good sites to purchase the MDF or does homedepot carry it? Sorry, first box build.
homedepot lowes.. they all carry 3/4 mdf...

I think 1/2" polycarbonated plex should be sufficient. just set the plex with 1/4" spacers on the inside of the box so that the plexi will rest flush with the outside of the box. Most of your hardware stores carry 3/4" MDF. Don't get 1" unless you are running lots of power.

Hey Guys, I need your expertise, Please! I'm probably going about this the wrong way, but I want to center my design around the sheets of plexi I'm able to get. I'm not sure if I want a sub forward/port forward box or a sub rear/ port forward box. Leaning more towards the latter of the 2, but what ever you think would give me the most output in a dodge charger trunk (seats fold down). The box is for 2 12" RE XXX subs. I was thinking:

32" width

48" length

15" height

The box will be double front baffle (sub flush look). Not too sure about the port. I was thinking something like a horizontal port on the rear side of the box.

The RE website states 2.2 Cubes ported per sub is optimal, but I hear thats inaccurate. I'm not sure if the 2.2 is before or after sub displacement. What is the optimal box size for the subs?
