Plexiglass or Mdf. for speaker baffles??

I need to make some custom baffles for my door to fit my 6" mid. Thing is I can only fit 1/4 inch material so I need to use the strongest out of the 2. Do you guy's recommend making the baffles out of Plex. or mdf. Witch is stronger? I don't mind the extra work of plexi.

mdf, and I would make 1/2 work at the least.

Plexi is too flexible. And as mentioned, find a way to go thicker. If you absolutely can't go thicker, consider soaking the MDF in resin to stiffen it up.

Can you mount the baffle behind the panel and cut out the metal around the speaker?

That MDF resin thing sounds like a great idea and so is the idea on ^^^^ but my doors are made out fiberglass and seem brittle. Thanx for help so far.
