how would i mount a peice of plexiglass flush on my box do i use a router or something? thanks

Yep use the router. Cut your hole about 1/2" - 1" smaller than the actual size window. Then use your router around the edges of the hole, to remove enough wood to allow your panel to sit flush in the hole you just created. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've done this to cover fuse pannels, PDBs and such, but never on a box...

How do you go about Securing it and sealing it while still maintaining the clean looks???

I normally do it reverse. I Rout out the wood from the inside that way I can seal it w/ out having to worrie about the beauty aspect of it because that part won't even be seen. for the sealing part I normally use some adheasive weather stripping between my lexan and my wood then afew screws hold it just fine.

Variety of tools work.

I usually just use a table saw and bandsaw --- then file the edges smooth.

Most Home Depot's sell blades for most tools to cut plexi. Although, I just use the 'wood working' blades I have set up in the table saws and bandsaw and it works just fine. Smells pretty nice, too :thumbsdow

Ive done and saw people cut pieces of thin wood and place them on the inside of the hole cut out for the plexi. Then just use screws big enough to get threw the wood and plexi. then do something around the front side of the plexi so u dont see the wood on the backside. Its easier than it sounds and its easier if u dont have a router or arent just good w/ them.

There is one problem though: say u have 3/4" mdf and like 1/4" plexi it wont sit flush.

No edge lighting, although I really gave it some thought in the design stage, and even tested some ideas, but couldnt figure out how to do it. That was when the glass was going to be flat. Since I couldnt get the edge effect down, I decided to ad a different customisation by curving the glass. Although a pain in the azz I think it gave it the look it needed.

I did go back and ad a small 4" blue neon as back lighting. Which , when I redo thing, I will not put back. Too tacky i think. It should be more hidden and less obvious.
