Please Recommend the perfect sub

the old w6's are louder then the w6v2's???? hmmm you are the first person i have ever heard say taht. it is also not true. my local shop ran 2 12w6's in the same scenario as 2 12w6v2's and the v2's blew them out of the water in SPL and SQ. maybe the one you heard was a bad install???

What does the V2 mean at the end and why are they so good?
It just means Version 2. They are the new and revised w6 carrying some of the characteristics of the w7, but far from being the w7. Some say the w6v2 out performs the w7....but dependson the install/power sent to the sub. Everybody on here has their own opinions and a lot of the people dont like JL Audio, mainly because of there prices. Some just go along with everybody else and dont like them because the "big guys" dont. You listen around and you buy what you like....dont worry about what other people say. If u get a chance to listen to the w6v2 and decide you like it and want it...im just saying my offer is still up for you. Im not out there saying like most people...buy my sub its better. Im fair....I believe the 12w6v2 is a great mix of SQ and SPL....but thats opinion too.

oh and considering you can get 2 for 590 on ebay brand new, i'd say 300 for a w6v2 is still a rip off.
maybe its just me....but i noticed you tend to have a ton of attitude in a lot of your posts. You only like what you have, you don't agree that anything else could be good. I never said i wouldn't come down a little on that price. I dunno why you act like that so often....when I was just stating something. You get all defensive like your never wrong and you know everything and if someone disagrees or corrects you, you get all mad. I dont know...maybe its just me that thinks this. If so, I apologize. I just think you need to be more open and not get so uptight if someone says that they disagree or corrects you. Its just a hobby, nobody makes a living from it, so just treat it as one.

hey i was just stating you could find them on ebay for less if the guy was considering the purchase so he feels he got a good price that's all it was really. i didn't want him to purchase it from you if he did and then look on ebay one day and feel he got ripped off. oh and i don't dislike everything i have, i just think jl is way over priced. i know i don't know a ton about car audio that's why i'm on here to learn more and i have learned a lot from this site it's very helpful.

Well...i'm going to try and put in my honest -opinion- on the whole SQ/SPL thing here.

I'm using two Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1's which i know, and i was also told, that i have them under-powered to much. I'm only runing a Punch 800.2 to both of them, which isn't enough to bring their full potential out. My friend used a JBL 1200 to run two of his three Perfect 12's and he won a few bass comps around here. Not a bad setup he had. But anyways, as far as a good mixture of the SQ/SPL, i would -recommend- the subs i have. They run for around $350 direct from Infinity, BUT i got ahold of one on ebay for $169..that's including shipping/insurance. They have dutch auctions on subs all the time. Great deals none the less.I'm positive there's alot more stuff out there that would totaly mop the floor with my Infinity's, but i'm sort of partial to Infinity so i would recommend them to someone. Everyone has their -personal- favorites, so head to your local car audio shop and take a listen to some of the stuff they carry. We just had a bass comp here about 2 months ago, and there was a guy who was running 2 JL w7 13.1 subs, and three Rockford Fosgate bd1500's to run them (i believe), and he got beat by my friend who was running three Kicker 12 L7's. I've read/heard from soooo many people on how the w7's mop the floor with anything in it's class. Shop around, listen to everything you can, make your choice. Simple as that.

I think someone should figure out a way to make a living out of car audio. And I'm not talking about owning a company or doing custom installs all your life. I mean like, have contests w/ HUGE sums of cash for prizes...and we can have famous competitors and get our own cable tv station etc etc

I would stongly recommend getting the Jl audio w6...They can easily handle 500 watts...I see them all the time being run at 500 or more..They have very tight bass, good excursion..Outstanding SPL and Great high quality SQ....If you had one of them you would be pounding..Wouldn't even miss not having two subs. The w6v2 as said earlier doesn't put out that much more than the origninal w6..But the w3v2 puts 20-25% more than the w3..Personally the w3v2 would hit as hard or harder than the orginal w6!
