Im comparing 2 amps right now: Kenwood 600w (kac-7295) and the MTX 4122.

the mtx is a little under powered, kenwood pushes 300w bridged opposed to 200w for the MTX, but what really gets me is the rms for kenwood is 100w X 2 compared to the 30w X 2 for mtx.

I know rms is important and the numbers for mtx look low. Please give me some explanation for me, is this a weak amp?? Would it pound an impp 12'??

Look at the specs for your sub, RMS and peak watts. I try to find an amp that has a little more power than the sub can handle. I have 425 watt MTX rt2200x amp powering a T8124 which handles 400 watt RMS and 1000 watt peak. I usually like to push it up to a little less than the point where it almost flutters because the displacement is so large. I say go for the more powerful amp, but you don't want one that's over powering. Are you also comparing them price wise?

After browsing some webpages, I found your IMPP sub. It's about 200 watts rms and 800 watts peak. Go for the Kenwood amp, a little more power than you'd really need for that sub, but it's better than overdoing it with an amp that can output only so many watts. Just be careful you don't pop the sub. And get a repair warranty for it if you can, That sub seems to retail for $220
