the system works when i just turn the key, not the car on and then starts cutting out after volume 25, the head unit still stays on after i start the car and my radio works just not the subs. its a 1997 ford escort with a jvc cd deck and planet audio front and back speakers with a 350 kenwood amp and 2 10 inch planet audio subs and a 4/0 power line..
I highly doubt you are running 4/0 wire. Just so you know, that would be about 4 inches thick wire. You are probably running 4 gauge wire. Not the same as 4/0.
well i figured out i need a new/better battery, got everything working but my car battery keeps dying after a couple minutes cuz they battery isnt powerful enough to run everything...i guess its gonna cost around 200 dollars lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif thanks for all your guys help though!!
I don't think it is your battery since it plays off the battery without any issues until you get to a high volume. That is to be expected out of a flooded battery.
unless your batt is old/dead i don't think that is your issue..
Yep.
ya soooooooo....went and bought a brand new optium battery and!!!!!!!!!system does not work when i start my car.......still.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif
Did you buy the DMM (Digital Multi Meter aka volt meter)? If so, what are the following reading:
1) Voltage of battery with key off
2) Voltage of battery with key to ACC and audio on half volume
3) Voltage of battery with engine running, audio off
4) Voltage of battery with engine running, audio on half volume
5) Voltage at amp with engine running, audio on half volume
Sounds like to me your alt might be going bad. Either that or you have some really messed up wiring that I cannot even contemplate.
Reply back with those voltages and I will keep trying to help.
