SO i have a problem. I drive a 2003 ford explorer and i have two 15 inch db platinum sups in a ported box. i want to build a box for three db platinum 15's and i want to go with a sealed box to get better sound quality. How should i do it. Can i put one on top and two on the side? Or one upside down and the other two regular. I want the deepest bass and best sound quality possible. The speakers are 1000 watts rms a piece and i have a 2400 class d orion amp. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

if you have the room to add a third sub, then you probably have the room to just port the box you have now and possibly get the results your looking for. it's not a rule that ported boxes are for SPL only and not for SQ. three subs will be louder than two, but i don't believe that you will gain more low freq.

So build a vented box about 3.5 - 3.75 cu. ft. and tune it in the 32 - 35Hz range (depending on what music you listen to). And I'm not sure I'd fire the subs in different directions.. Face them all the same way. What is your current box tuned to? And how big is it?
