Calling all box geniuses! Need help for 15" box.

Hey, i have recently purchased a very inexpensive ED e15k (made by destjl, the old RE buildhouse), and i have a couple of problems. I have a dodge intrepid with a rear shelf that comes down and only allows for a 14" tall box. I know i can angle the front of the box, and that would work ok with a round port, but what about a slot port?

I know the recommended box is 2.5-3.0 cubes net, the woofer displaces.08, and i would like to port around 32.

Can i have the slot port come out the side?

One thing i was thinking about doing was because the shelf only extends out 10inches or so, i could build a 14" tall box, and then build it up 2" higher in the front for a couple of inches back so the sub could mount in and fit. I could just calculate the volume of that added rectangle on top and add that to total volume. Would that work ok?

Off topic but why swap out the RL-p for an eD e15k?

Oh, i dig the RL-P, but i have a 12" version of the e12k, and it holds its own pretty well against the RL-P, and i got this 15" for $45 shipped, so i figured why not try it.

yeah, something like that. Probably will have a slot port that goes up to the height of the back part. so this would work, right?

As long as you angle the port inside to match the angle of the baffle board, you can build it without having to put in the drop. Like this,

The design the JBL gave you is super, as long as you can get enough port area, that enclosure will fit sweet.
