hey guys im new to this site but i have been messin with cars all my life. i have a 98 z28 camaro with the t-tops. here is the low down on my system. alpine cda-7892{i think thats the one i have not shure at the moment im tired lol}mtx 3404 4 channel, mtx 3401 1 channel sub amp memphis m1 d 4ohms wired to 2 ohms in a mtx thunderform,mb quart pvf-216 premium componet set. my 4 channel is rated at 50x4 but it puts out 68wx4 on the spec sheet. it says 218wx2 bridged @4ohm

so will that be to much power for the componets? i dont run rear fill just the componets and the sub. the spec sheet for the componets say power rating of 70-140 but it dont say if its rms of 140 or peak.

thanks

As long as you set your gains right you'll be fine. Just because you have 218wpc doesn't mean that is what your components will see... Besides the headroom is nice. MBQs will take a decent amount of power too though... shouldn't be a problem. Just read some of the FAQs and stickies about properly setting gains.
