Please help with amp and sub selection..

The subs are dual four ohm so you would run two of them down to a 1 ohm load. Use the first one, the second one is probably too much for them.

Judging by that comment please have someone else install it.

I feel like I am repeating myself.

I've installed an amp before...I've just never had a mono amp or dual subs so I am not familiar how to have them at a 1 ohm load.

If I don't do it myself...how will I learn and get experience?

^^true, just make sure to follow the advice of experts and don't be Jim Bob from down the way with a roll of duct tape. No offense to Jim Bob...you're my boy blue!

Back on track: Each sub has two four ohm coils. Wire each sub in parallel giving you two subs at 2 ohms each. Wire those in parallel to get two subs, wired together, at 1 ohm.

Or you could do a heavy duty two channel and put each sub to one channel on the amp.

So it would be like this??

I'll probably need a better box too...how big is yours? I see you have Type R subs.

And if they are at 1 ohm why do I need an amp with 1600watts rms at 1 ohm? Isn't that too much? Sorry...I still have a lot to learn.

Yes that is how they will be wired up.

The 1600 Watts RMS is a little much but the Type-R's can handle a lot. I built a custom box (3/4" MDF) for my Type-R's (whatever the recommended volume was in the manual).

I am running the Rockford Fosgate 1000.1bd and on the birth sheet it said 1428 @1 Ohm so they can handle it.
