subs perform better reflecting off of something. you will not get the same performance with them facing you.

it IS cansulation! normally trunks are the loudest sealed off. the next loudest is the sub firing foward with the back of the box tight to the taillights,try this.

Facing a sub and port forward in a trunk is a lot louder then facing a sub and port back. But it only works if the port is tuned right. To face it forward you'd need a longer port since there isn't much of anything loading the port when facing forward unlike facing back the back of the trunk is loading the sub and port.
