Please Help Sub Trouble

THis is a bass worx enclosure with a 15" Kicker CVR. Obviously a svc the amp i have order is 312w at 4 ohm and 500w at 2 ohm. Is there any way to get a 2 ohm load with this amp?

All Kicker CompVR subs are dual voice coil subs. Since your enclosure only has a single set of terminals, that means the two coils were wired together inside the box, and wired to the terminal cup on the back of the box.

If the sub is a dual 4 ohm, then if the coils were wired in parallel inside the box, then the sub will be a 2 ohm load to the amp. If they were wired in series, then it would be an 8 ohm load to the amp.

If the sub is a dual 2 ohm, then if the coils were wired in parallel inside the box, then the sub will be a 1 ohm load to the amp. If they were wired in series, then it would be an 4 ohm load to the amp.

If you have an ohmmeter, you can measure the resistance at the terminals on the back of the box, to know what you have. Otherwise, you'll have to take the sub out, and look at the back, to see which model you have, and to see how it's wired. You can post pictures for us to look at if you're unsure.

Hope this helps!
