PLEASE HELP QUICK almost dark

ok i have my system in my car and it sounds horrible i turn the level on the amp up and it gets louder of course but it sounds like farts not bass everything is brand new and everything powered right up i NEED HELP! is it my speaker wriring ahhh plaese start troubleshooting

well it sounds like youre a true beginner. Thats ok we were all beginners at one time. First things first;

That is where you start. You obviously have power to the amp. You also have a signal from the head unit. What you need to do is check and double check all connections from the amp to the speakers. Make sure that + = + / - = -. and if you have dual voice coils be absolutely sure the polarity is correct. You may have to remove speaker from enclosure to verify polarity. A little more info about enclosure would be helpful too!

not a beginner but deffintetly new to ported boxes im about to triple check the speaker wiring its a hifonics 1500bx a poted box about 35hz and 7cuft and 2 db drive platinum 12s

be sure you have the woofer wired right...if it is fine and you have a true voltage reading at the amp, sounds like the enclosure...

ive always had a gain on my amps this has a "level" wich goes from 9v to .02v

found that on the inside of the box i got my wires crossed and had the negative running to the positive terminal its already dark and my legs are on fire from mesquitos so tommorow ill finish lifting the 30lb subs back into the 95lb box

also check your ground. make sure your getting a good connection.

Did switching the wires around fix it? A bad box could sound bad but I don't think that bad...

well yeah didnt actaully wieght it just figured from the amount of wood i have, anyway yeah i switched the wires this morning and got em going boy o boy are they going lost my rearview at the end of the block (20year old glue), just curious you guys my deck goes to 40 and its more than decent at 20 what would be considered overpushing the subs and how long of a break in should i give em
