"high level" cars can use rear speakers to simulate room reflections and further enhance the depth of the sound stage and also the spaciousness of the vehicles sound stage. it requires a bit of processing and extra amp channels and if not properly implemented can do more harm than good. i agree that it's best to invest in the front stage first and save rear speakers for a time when there is money burning a hole in your pocket and extra amplifier channels are sitting unused. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifMost of us don't use rear fill. It's not needed and actually diminishes the sound stage. You will not find a single high level car with rear fill. If your bro is telling you MB then just don't listen to him and show him what's up when you're done here.
here is what i consider a "high level" car I did that has rear speakers - they help control sound stage height and depth.
