I just bought a 1992 Buick Regal.
I am trying to install my CD player in it. Since I can't seem to find anyone who knows anything about car stereo's I am forced to try to figure this out myself. Here is my issue.
The CD player I am attempting to install is a Pioneer DEH-P3700mp.
I went to the store and bought the harness that supposedly fits a 1992 Buick Regal, and the wire colors do not match the colors that are inside the car.
If this isnt bad enough, the wires inside the Buick have been pulled from the harness, so I don't know what wire goes in what hole. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
I guess what I really need to know is what the colors go to because the colors dont match.
Here is a list of the wires I have....

*There are 3 wires enclosed inside a large black wire. (It looks as if this wire is coming from under the glove box.)
1. is a bare wire with no color
2. is a grey wire with a white stripe
3. is a green wire with a white stripe.
*There are 3 wires that are wrapped in black electrical tape (These wires appear to be coming fromthe dash under the radio.)
1. solid green
2. grey
3. Black
*These wires are attached to a harness that contains 8 holes but only 6 holes are being used. (these are coming from under the glovebox)
1.green
2. orange
3.yellow
4. tan with white stripe
5. another yellow
6. black
*These wires are also attached to a harness (coming from the dash under the radio)
1. green
2. orange
3. yellow
4. tan with white stripe
5. yellow with black stripe
6. black
*These are the wires that have been ripped from the harness that they were in (coming from under the glovebox)
1.yellow
2.Orange
3.white w/black stripe
4. Black w/white stripe
5.green w/white stripe
OKAY....
So....here are the wires that I need to match with these (that are located with the CD player I am trying to install) I know what each color on these go to because they are labled on the wire.
yellow (12v battery wire)
red (ignition wire)
blue (antennae wire)
orange (illum dash)
black (ground wire)
grey (R,front spkr +)
grey w/ black stripe (R.front speaker-)
white (L front spkr+)
white with black stripe (L front spkr-)
green (L rear spkr+)
green w/ black stripe (L rear spkr-)
violet (R rear spkr +)
violet w/ black stripe (R rear spkr -)
I need to know what the wires inside my car go to so I can match them up. Can someone help me out please???????
I looked online in several places but the charts I find dont have the colors I need (like the solid with white stripes)
