Hi,

Ok so I bought 2 Pioneer TS-W310D4 12" subwoofers and a Pioneer GM-D8601 amp.

- First question is can anybody confirm that's the right amp match for 2 400RMS 12" subs?

- Second question, what wiring kit do I need for them?

Thanks in advance!

yeah wire the subs up like this:

You need 4 gauge wire from the Power (+) of the amp to the + on the car battery with a 150a ANL fuse near the battery. Then you need another run of 4 gauge wire to go from the Ground (-) of the amp to something on the chasis of the vehicle (like a bolt that bolts a seat to the floor. Make it so the wire is held down by the bolt and touches the bare metal on the floor. Then you need a run of 18 gauge wire to go from the remote terminal on the amp and splice it to the remote wire on your head unit (radio wire harness), the blue wire (to make sure it's the blue wire check the manual for your wire harness). Then you need about 10 - 15ft of an RCA cable to go from your head unit (radio) to your sub's amp.

If you have a factory radio and not an aftermarket HU (Head Unit) then you should tell us and we can look it up or whatever.

For hooking the speakers or subs up I don't think the size speaker wire makes much of a difference but the size of the power and ground wires only have to be 4 gauge or whatever the biggest your amp takes which is probably 4 gauge.

It makes a difference but not at this point. Power wire matters because it's high current low voltage. Speaker wire is higher voltage lower current meaning the wire can be smaller.

Maybe 1 more question. With this kit and the 14 gauge speaker wire that came with my speakers, am I set for wires? Just making sure I don't wait a week to find out that I need more wires.

Would it be better to get a lower amp fuse then? As long as my cars electrical is safe I'm fine with it but if I can protect the amplifier for a few bucks more I'd do it.
