Ok, I just finished installing a set of cdt ef-61 comps. I bought them hoping they would end the staticky problem i've been having (and also because they are nice).
Ever since I added my avionixx 440.4 amp, there has been static. I can unhook the rca's and static is still there, and I can turn up the gain and it makes more static so i KNOW it's the amp. I do have it grounded in what I think is a good spot, it's the unibody of the car and paint is scraped away. I have done an alternator upgrade but I ALSO upgraded the big 3 at that time too and made sure to create good grounds. Would it help if i used a ground distro block and put the amp to two grounds instead of one maybe? What's the maximum length I can use for ground? Please help this is driving me crazy!
