Please Help ASAP!

I have a JL audio 1000 watt amp powering two 10"w7 subs, and a 450/4 amp powering my speakers for a total of 1450watts. Tomorrow i'm going in to get everything installed. I spoke with my installer today and he said I was going to need a batcap. Would you all recommend doing this? I am already upgrading to a 200amp alternator and I've already purchased a 2.5 farad capacitor. Before paying $200 for this batcap I want to make sure its something I really need. This is all going into a 2003 Mustang Cobra.

u should have got the batcap instead of that cap, yes I would go with the batcap and ditch that cap.. if he asks tell him i fvcking said so

Sell the capacitor and use an xtra batt if you have to. Personally I don't think you will need more than you already have with 1500 watts. That 200 alt should be fine. But more is always better.

No I bought the capacitor myself. He was trying to convince me that the cap was a piece of crap and that instead I should buy a "bat cap" which is suppose to be a hell of a lot better. Another question I had was should I get the bat cap that he is recommending or just buy a new main battery, like an Optima yellow top.

I'm going with a Kinetik HC2000...gonna see how that behaves with my stock 145 Alt. I've only got 1000W RMS and my research seems to indicate that a 200-250 Amp Alt. for 1500RMS, you should have at least 1500a of battery. If i were you, i wouldnt have him put in the batcap, or the capacitor. Get everything installed other then that, then order yourself up a kinetik 1400 or kinetik 1800 and throw it under the hood.

not sure how much he is charging for what size bat cap but you can get a brand new

kinetic hc800 from audiosavings on ebay with full warranty for $115 SHIPPED

atleast he was trying to give you good advice unlike others i've heard of....a cap is nothing more than a band-aid....run a battery and sell the cap to some punk kid...chech out egay...they have some good prices on kinetik bats...check out an hc800 or bigger or u might get lucky and find some guys on here selling in the classifieds section.
