Please help a car audio newbie with first setup

what do you think about the memphis amps i specified to power the brahma 10's and the components? are they good amps?
Like i listed, there is a cheap MC1500D on ebay.

It will power the brahma really nice, even a MC1000D

Im looking into buying one for myself, i like the look //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

100w to the Koda 6.1's would power them nicely

Like mrray posted, there good amps

thanks guys for your input //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ok i was doing some research on the setup mrray, and the big difference i see is, with my initial setup i had only one set of components and running a sub with 1000 plus watts to it

with the memphis setup, i would have 2 sets of components with a 5 channel amp, running 75x4 to the components and 300 x 1 to the sub, would that be enough bass???

u were looking at smaller belle...

compromise is the happiness of middle ground..or something..

my truck, my decision, here's what i'd do....

run one set of msync 6.5 componets..that'll be plenty...

run a pr150.2 on those componets ( 75wrmsx2@2ohm)

run the m3 10 in a ported enclosure, tuned low...35hz......u'll be amazed by it.....

run the m3 off one of the new pr500d's...same power as the mc500d, only one ohm stable and it would match the pr150.2 for a real clean look!! or a mc1000d if ur power hungry..hehe

what do think about that set-up? i believe u will like it!

i was looking at the 16-MC1300D - Memphis Belle 1300 Watt Amplifier

RMS Power 4 ohm (Watts) 75 x 4 / 300 x 1

RMS Power 2 ohm (Watts)115 x 4 / 600 x 1

hmm thanks for all your suggestions, the m3 has a rms of 300 watts so it can take 500 or even more?

yeah..it'll take 1000wrms in the right enclosure...i've seen one do it. a 10" m3 in .88ft^3 ported (don't know tuning, it was prefab...so i'd guess 40hz) pushed by a mc1000d in a firechicken.....LOUD!!

i've also heard that sub pushed by both a kicker 600. something and a mc500d...again LOUD!!! same car, same box....

the 600 watt belle is the small one...they have a bigger belle rated 1000wrms on the mono side.......

I know this won't be popular here but I've been very happy with products I've purchased from Elemental Designs. Currently running eDi's with a NINE.2 and a 12A and I love how they sound. Their new K series subs are not out yet but they just released pics of the final product at http://www.icixsound.com/vb/showthread.php?t=4678 so I assume shipping in a few weeks.

You could take a chance on them and save some money. I guess it depends on how you view it. I bought the eDi's and NINE.2 during the preorder and am VERY happy I did.

how is the clarity and sound of the Memphis line of amps? Specifically, their 1000D and their 2004. Distortion levels on the 1000D are 0.7% @ 4ohms- eep!

2004 seems good, 0.03

Anyone want to explain?

the 1000d is designed for 1 ohm....i think distortion is down around .05% @ 1ohm..

also, pushing subs, i doubt u will actually hear any distortion, unless u clip the signal

as to their sound...well, they "sound" excellent..i've absolutely loved both memphis amps i've owned, a 1000d and the pr140 i still have. they give more then their rated power, will go all day without complaint and they look good! IMHO, one of, if not the best overall package of any mainstream company. u simply cannot go wrong running memphis.

anyway...that's my opinion..hope it helps..
