Please help a car audio newbie with first setup

ok i am brand new to car audio and this board, but trying to learn as much as i can. i just purchased a ford ranger regular cab and would like to spend $1500 on a new system, that is with a box and install, mainly sq but i would also like for it to be moderately loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

my current head unit is: alpine 9833

sub, i can fit 1 10 behind my seat, was thinking about idmax 10, brahma 10 or orion h2 10

amp for sub: no idea, not sure how good the hilfonics brutus or jbl will sound, suggestions? someone recommended me the memphis mc1000d

6.5 components: boston acoustics 6.5 pro, CDT Audio HD-642, koda

amp for component: MEMPHIS 16-MC300 amp. 150x2 @4ohm

another option is going with the eDi combo set of the 6500 components plus a nine.2 amp, and 2 11kv.2 subs with the nine.1 amp, that is a much cheaper option but i'm not sure if it's the best one.

If it was me i would get a Kicker l7 8'' and a kicker kx400.1 i would think that would be good.

I really like the look of the MC, there is a cheap MC1500D on ebay.

sense ur looking at memphis...why not run all memphis??

put a m3 10 behind ur seat, put msync componets in all factory spots, push all of it with a memphis bell (get the big one with the 1000d built in)....u will be loud and clean and if bought from a authorized dealer (no internet) u will have a four year warranty....

stay away from jbl, puts out power, but gobbles up current...

another option...run a soundsplinter rl-i 10 behind ur seat pushed by a hifonics nemesis nx750d with ur choice of componets.....

stay away from eD if u want ur stuff this year and want it last till next year.....(no i don't own any eD, nor will i..hell, they get ragged on at their own forum)

lol......yep!!

far and away one of the best mainstream brands available,IMHO. the pr series is awesome for an entry level product (better then most companies mid level stuff), the mclass of stuff is highend (amps especially..deep, deep love for memphis power) and the mojo line of subs is awesome. only thing i don't like are the lvs subs...retarded!!

u can do alot worse then memphis without being able to do a whole lot better..

besides, i'm finishing up an x-cab ranger running all memphis subs (3 pr12's) and all memphis speakers (4 pr5x8's)....why not add another ranger to the all(well mostly) memphis club???lmao..

is that the combo you have? what amps do you run? don't laugh, but what is an l7, is it better for sq then the brahma? thanks for your input =)

Also, 2 Koda 8's and 2 Shivas

well..u should be able to get the componets for around $250 a pair...so there is $500..

the sub will run in the neighborhood of $200....

so there's $700..

the bell will run around $700.....

so it would be pushing it.......BUT, most dealers will cut u a deal if buyin a bunch of stuff....my local dealer would sell and install that setup for $1500...i'd **** near stake my life on it...

go to ur nearest memphis retailer, tell them what i just posted and see what quote u get...

btw..being standard cab, u could drop one set of componets, run a pr 150.2 to the syncs and a 1000d to the sub..that would for sure drop u under the $1500 tag..

the L7/L5 are the square kickers btw......get real loud, have to have a great enclosure to sound real clean

memphis makes excellent amps...underrated, good looking and did i say good looking?

they are also an excellent value....at least in my opinion...hehe

chances are u'll get a prefab to save $$$.....but tell them what ur after, install and all (including box)....with that kinda money, especially if ur buying that day....they will be willing to do most anything..hehe

and if u happen to get it..u won't be disappointed, as long as the box is good (btw, memphis makes prefab boxes too..well, they put their logo on them anyway)
