New system in process so just want to make sure I'm getting the right equipment...

HU: Pioneer 880

Active front setup: Dayton RS180-4

Seas 27TFFNC/G or LPG 25NFA

Front Amp: PPI Art AX400

Sub: Fi Audio Q15 (most likely this or RLP or IDMAX or TC-2000)

Sub Amp: US-Amps US-100HC wired at 1 ohm.

Deadening: Raammat

Am I missing anything? Do I need a processor? Sorry for these questions but I've been out of car audio for overa year now so please feel fre to correct me.

Hey Jim. I know I'm makign too many theads these days but I'm anxious ****it lol. What exactly do you mean by the "install"? the box, deadening, door work, etc?

All of the above, and more //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You're going to be spending some time playing with speaker angles, figuring out how to get the best imaging and staging...that sort of thing doesn't come together by itself unless you're really lucky //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Theres no correcting to be made, if it sounds right to you, thats all that matters. Although...yes install Is key.
It takes a lot of experimenting to learn that however.

To describe install is key; here are some good pointers:

1) ensure dimesions are accurate before cutting, draw it out on the board. Then label them so you won't recut a board intended for one purpose.

2) before cutting build the box and such out of cardboard or something to ensure everything will fit. In my experience, on-the-fly adjustments don't work out well.

3) Don't make anything permanet before cutting. Use velcro, tape, etc to 'mock-up' speaker placement to a) see what sounds best and b) see if it will even fit.

4) Take your time and bring a friend. I am very book smart, but I lack much 'common sense' I miss a lot of small things which make installs go bad. My friend is dumb as a brick in school but notices things like gluing the wrong panel to the wrong side etc.

In sum, pay attention to the small things when doing your install as these things add up to matter the most.

Im planning on using the stock spots (tweets in a pillars and mid in door). But ill use temp. spots for the tweet to get the best imaging.

Also, be sure to EQ last and use it as a last resort to remedy problems. Try to cut with the EQ instead of boost if possible.

With properly built enclosures, gain settings, and speaker choices/installations you should need a minimum of eq'ing.

I dont think I'll need to boost anythign with the amont of power i have //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif .
