Plate Amps

PE has its BASH plate amps on sale fro about $50 less than retail (300 is $109, 500 is $159). I have an ht sub build for this summer, and I'm not sure which one to get. The sub is one of the teamquake hcca's, and I don't know if the 300 will be enough. I would really prefer to save the cash but I don't want to be disappointed. It'll be ported at around 4 cubes, 20hz. I've never really built an ht sub, so I'm not sure which to choose.

Any input/suggestions? Sale ends tomorrow (I think) so I need to come up with a decision soon.

I have a 1500rms behringer amp if you are interested. I would let it go for $250 plus shipping. So probably $270 to your door. You would never need to buy another subwoofer amp again for home audio. Hope that helps.

Yeah, when I had the 15" Mag hooked up to 1500rms in my house it was CRAZY

I've been looking at that one too, along with the Buttkicker @ Amazon. I think I would feel bad having more power inside than in my car. Plus I'm in an apt at the moment, and separates/rackmounts are kinda ugly w/o a place to hide them.

If I'm reading correct, does the Buttkicker put out 1900 RMS @ 2ohm?

Anyone use one? Is the ssf always on or can it be turned off?

Woot... I picked the BKA, after reading the numerous Behringer bashes here, numerous praises for the BK over at TC, and cautiously emailing Guittammer about exploding capacitors.

Now I get to design my enclosure. I want to downfire, but I have carpet in my apartment. How high should the driver be from the floor? I've thought about loading boards and such, but I can't seem to find any reliable information. Should I be woried about muffling at all from the carpet? I can't imagine having any problems with output at 900w.

Can anyone help me find some examples of downfiring commercial units? I'm looking to design something both asthetically pleasing but yet totally functional. I would post some of the sketches or ideas I have had, but I think it may be better saved for the enclosure board?
