plastic clear box?

x2
Depending on your application, should only need 1/4 or 1/2" Lexan.
If your mounting your tweeters in it maybe. While acrylics are strong. They don't tend to deal with vibration and flexing to well at all. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you need atleast 1/2" thick. Use Lexan. Plexi is more brittle, and therefore scratches quite easily. Plexi is also slightly more dense than lexan, which is better for sound... but there's always a trade off

The box will be quite expensive. You have to buy a full 4x8 sheet to get 1/2" and they're somewhere around $400 if i'm not mistaken... (dad's been working with plastic for the past 25 years)

cheapest and easiest way is go buy a clear storage bin at wal mart...cut the top out for your subs...that way its easy to change if you go a different sub route...make sure you get the high quality boxes that are air tight ...so they will sound the best....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Plexi isn't that much stronger than Lexan... that being said, In a show car... i would use plexi, because it's stronger/more dense.

Plexi is brittle, Lexan will bend.

In a daily vehicle, i would use Lexan. It's less prone to scratching and isn't that much weaker than Plexi. It depends on the setup, but 1/2" is the minimum thickness i would use.
