I am going to get a custom battery tray which means I will be able to get 2 batteries to fit under the hood depending on the size.. But I also can run one big battery if that is better.. Not too sure yet..

After looking around for batteries, sofar I got (2) Kinetik HC1400s in my mind.. I am wondering if you guys know of a better pair of batteries for me to run.. HC1400s got 60 Ah rating on each battery.. I was told that the higher Ah Rating is, the better it is and I should not worry about CCA since it is not applicable to me? I am still new to this whole battery scene.. I am not too sure how to determine the Ah rating when I combine 2 batteries? just combine the ratings? which mean if I run 2 HC1400s, my Ah rating is going to be 120 or what?

Here is the pic of the tray that I might get anytime soon

The tray's measurement is L 10" x W 13 3/4"

2 batteries got to fit in the tray; otherwise it is out of the picture.

In case you are wondering, I am going to run kicker zx2500.1, 15" CD Omega, Pioneer 990BT, Mechman 250A Alternator, and in the future I will be running kicker 650.4 and a set of comps..

let me know if I should look into different batteries than the HC1400s, thanks.

what are those batteries's size?
and how did you manage to fit those batteries under the hood? did you make a tray or something?
Well i had cut the factory tray a good bit, but its still there, from when i had a HC2400 in it, these fit in there much better than the 2400:

yeah i see hc2400 is a big *** battery thats why I figured that I would be better off getting 2 midsize batteries that would fit better..

how did you cut the factory tray and how are you securing the batteries down to the body so it wont move around?

The two HC1400 would add up to a single 120AH bank as you said earlier. That is just less than the HC2400, which is rated at 128AH. I am pretty sure that the HC2400 would be cheaper as well.

Two HC1400:

10.6 x 9 x 8.1 in (772.74 in³)

78 lbs.

$740 MSRP

One HC2400:

13 x 6.7 x 8.2 in (714.22 in³)

69 lbs.

$500 MSRP

good point but the battery being 13 inches in length is killing me ha..

I dont think I have room to fit one 2400 under the hood, but I will check if I can or not..

i just checked my stock battery tray and it measures 12 x 8 x 7..

HC2400 might be able to fit if I modify the tray somehow.. or I can have it lie down on its side to make it fit.. or I could just get 2 HC1400s if I find a good deal and not worry about fitting them under the hood..

and where would be the best place for me to buy batteries from?
