Planning new system...NEED HELP

Well, I am planning a new system for my new car. I purchased a 2010 MazdaSpeed 3 a month ago, and now the system is the next to do. I am currently deployed and have nothing but time to ponder. I get back in October and want to get right at it. I have never even seen the car before, I purchased it online and had it delivered to my house. (Sure made the wife happy when that happened!!)

My goal:

I want a well rounded setup. Nice Sound Quality with the ability to get loud. I am not looking for impress the neighbor 10 houses down, but I want the ability to get loud if I choose. I will be doing the install myself, and have experience building setups and doing fiberglass. I will be going with a sealed box, amp rack and a fiberglass surround to make it flow nicely.

My budget:

Right around $1000. For amps, subs, components. Supplies, wiring and all, is not factored into my budget because I can buy it slowly without the wife really noticing. I told her $1000, so if I spend $75 for wiring, then $100 for deadening and $50 for materials, she will wont realize how much I am spending.

Time Frame:

Octoberish

I want any and all opinions. If you think a store is a bad choice, please say so. If an amp or sub is wrong, please say so. I live in Guam, so everything must be purchased online.

What I have been looking at:

Subs.

(2) RE *** 12". Only place I can find them is through an ebay store. They have good feedback, and says they are an authorized dealer. I would rather buy direct from a dealer tho. So opinions are wanted.

$349.95 for the pair

AMPS

I want to run a mono amp at 1 ohm and a 2 channel amp to run the front sound stage.

I have been looking at MB Quart and US amps. I have also looks at MA Audio, but I am unsure of how the quality is. I like the looks and the digital readout on them, but I would rather go higher quality with US amps. If they are high quality, please let me know.

For US Amps, I am looking at XT4000DE V2 and XT800.2 V2. I have only found them on the same ebay store. The other normal stores online have the old v1s.

Us Amps 1500x1 @ 1ohm $299.95

US Amps 100x2 @ 4 ohms $134.95

or

MB Quart DSC 1500.1D 1500x1 @ 1ohm $227.10

and

MB Quart DSC 280 2 Channel 80x2 @ 4ohms $99.98

Then for my front stage I am very torn on what I want. And really need suggestions. I have a set of brand new Alpine type R 6.5 Comps at home that I got awhile back. Not sure of how they sound or the reviews on them. But I have been looking at:

MB Quart 6.5" 2-Way Premium $219.99

http://www.woofersetc.com/p6846/PVI216--MB-Quart-65"-2Way-Premium-Component-Speaker-System.htm

or

Image Dynamics 6.5" Component $179.99

http://www.woofersetc.com/p6201/CTX65CS--Image-Dynamics-65"-Component-Speaker-System.htm

or

RE Audio 6.5" Component $169.99

http://www.woofersetc.com/p4927/RE65-COMP--RE-Audio-65"-2-Way-4-Ohm-RE-Series-Component-Set.htm

I really dont know about the front stage and am open to suggestions. Are the alpines worth using, or should I sell them and go with something above?

Are there are dealers on here that can get me the RE and US amps? I would rather not use Ebay!!!

THANKS!!!!!!!

first i'd like to say, sell me those alpine comps for cheap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That doesn't mean they're good to use, I have infinity reference coaxials so anything is an upgrade for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

for sound deadener I'd go with RAA mat's b stock and sound deadener showdown for vertical surfaces.

Rainbow comps seem to be a favorite here.

personally I'd recommend cadence or sundown amps.

good subs though, might also want to check out IDq's

And good choice on a car, mazda is pwnage. mazda247.com has all your needs car wise.

If you are serious about the speakers, I will talk to you when I get back to guam and see what I want to do with them. I will probably be selling them.

I will check out the deadener for sure.

I really wanted to go sundown amps, but I cant seem to match for the speakers and amps I want. Everything seems to be to high in power or too low in power.

For the Rainbows, any preference on which set?

Only thing I may change are the subs... I'd likely go with FI SSD or something similar. I don't have any experience w/ the new REs, but I have heard that their quality has diminished a bit in the last couple of years.

I ran the v1 of the xt4000 and it was solid. XT is US Amps lowest line and it probably didn't quite do rated power, but it never got hot and pounded 6 10s. That being said, I don't think you can go wrong with the MB either. Most here looking for an amp that does 1200-1500 watts lean towards and AudioQue 1200. It will do a bit over 1200 and people seem to hold AQ products in high regard.

For the components I'd recommend using what you have... If you don't like them you can always switch later.

I will check out the FIs, reccomendation on site for them??

I will probably lean towards the MB quart, they are much cheaper. Plus if they are overratted, its kind of good, because the subs are rated at 600 each, and the amps do 1500, so it will be good for them to put out a tad less!!

You really think the type rs are worth it? I hear people talk so bad about alpine on this site, that I wasnt sure to use them, but if they are alright, it will save me some cash!!!

Thank you!!

caraudiodeals has those mb quart amps for a fraction of the cost
I found that site last night and couldn't believe how low the prices were, so I went to order them, they will not ship to military!!!!

I considered shipping to my brother and having him ship them to me, but if a company cant help us out and ship (we use the normal USPS) then they dont get my business!!!

try onlinecarstereo.com

Just bought a Sundown 1200d and a 125.2

Now I have my amps set, I am cruising for subs, and still considering what I want for my comps. I might use my alpines, but might sell them. I now have a larger budget because the amps were cheaper than I expected to pay!!!!

Anyone selling any sound deadener?

ficaraudio.com is where to purchase FI. You went from decent amps to great amps, good score there. I again think you should just try the Alpines since you have them and if you don't like the sound then you can switch them later....

Thanks man. I checked out Fi website, I am highly considering it. I am checking on their shipping now!!

Recomendations on deadener? All I want to do is the trunk and the doors. How much would I need?
