Planet Audio or Profile

Guys, if you were on a budget and needed a 2 channel amp with at least 60rms @ 4 ohms which do u think would be the better choice. This planet audio http://cgi.ebay.com/PLANET-AUDIO-2-CHANNEL-300-WATT-MOSFET-AMPLIFIER_W0QQitemZ190051995625QQihZ009QQcategoryZ18796QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem or this profile http://www.millionbuy.com/prfap400.html

I ask because im in the market for a decent 2 ch amp and i've heard good things about profile amps and good things about planet audio's mono block amps but not much about their class a/b amps.

Of those two I'd go with the Profile, personally.

Bear in mind that recommendation comes as the result of actually having experience with Profile's California-series and Clarus amps and consequently knowing firsthand that they are decent budget amplification.

I don't know anything about Planet Audio's stuff so I couldn't say good or bad about them.

i have the profile amp.

i've been using it since early this spring without any problems.

for a cheap little two channel i like it a lot, its a quite a step up from HU power.

did you look at profiles website? They sell factory refurbs for next to nothing with a full warranty- and you don't have to worry about some dick on ebay scamming you.

Or ~ if warranty is very important to you and you'd be willing to pay retail for that Profile AP400 it can be had for under $87/shipped here and will come with a valid 3 year warranty rather than the 1 yr off of Profile's site.

If warranty isn't that important then disregard this post.

I've been running my CA400m for almost two years now and haven't had a single problem. It drives my Infinity sub perfectly. I picked it up new off E-bay for a great price ($52 shipped). If you can find a referb for less then go for it.

thx guys, alot of helpful info here. I think i will go with a profile amp. But i was also looking at the AP1040 4 channel. For only $35 more it does 80rms x4. Even though i dont really need a 4 channel amp right now... i was thinking in the future if i decide to upgrade to a beefier front stage, the AP1040 will allow me to bridge into 225w X 2 @4ohms. Plus it looks like it's got a couple more little gadgets and gizmos on it that the other profile 2 channel amp doesnt have. What do u guys think? Sounds like a pretty juicy deal to me.

I'm a fan of Profile's gear (excepting the Baja-series stuff)

They're affordable, reliable for their pricepoint, and cosmetically they aren't terrible. The Clarus amps are kindof a hit or miss affair as far as looks go because you either love 'em or hate 'em but bang for the buck Profile's tough to beat.

I have an AP400 I'm not even using with the original box and manual in my closet. It looks brand new, I only used it to verify that it's working. I'll sell it to you if you're interested.
