Planet Audio louder than IA 20.1? Help

Ok ok ok.....well ive had this system in my car for a while now...but now im wanting to go a lil bigger.

So heres my current setup:

95 Civic 4dr

(eBay) HO alt 135(still get bad dimming)

Duralast Gold under hood

Planet Audio VX1400(1250watts)

3.5cuft@32hz

Alpine Type R

Both run at 1ohm

Ok now heres the dilemia.

I borrowed my friends IA 20.1 and hooked it up with same radio settings and everything....and its ridiculously noticeabily(sp) lower.

I usually ride with sub output on -4 and its nice but i had to put it on +6 just to get to about the same as the PA.

Soooooo...help?

Could it be that i have 4ga power wire and like 16ga sub wire...or crappy RCAs....what could cause this?

Not enough voltage?

I just want a decent score for now.

If i can get 145 legal im happy.

Right now im at about 141.8db last time i played with my Termlab...and that was at 37hz.

I know i need tune higher....but i wanna get more power on this first just to see how much a diff 600watts will make.

Any help is apperciated...anything i left out just ask please.

i thought 4ga only went to about 1200watts MAX....upgrade to 0 gauge

The 20.1 has 1/0 inputs for a reason...

Ohhhh another good point....we put it in my friends car with 4ga as well and it wanged just the same as my others friends 0ga.......any more clues?

wait you said its just sounding not loud in your car?? if so ur screwed idk: ...i have 0ga and 8ga on my speaker so idk might be that ur car cant power it or something too

Yeh thats what im thinkin...remember i sold u that PA2250...same exact thing is happenin with the IA20 that i told u happened with it.

Its just like night and day difference.

Just no output what so ever.

But when i put my old amp back in its just as loud as before.

I mean im getting 14.2-.4 volts ar my battery.....never tested when im bumping.Anyway to test to see what voltage the amp is getting?

Well i didnt set it with a DMM but it was halfway and still much of nothing...in my friends car a quarter was getting it moving.

what voltage does your headunit put out the outputs.

Show me how many awards that Planet audio took home at finals...then I'll listen. Planet Audio is a good BUDGET amp. Without details there is no way to know everything is correct with both amps. Im not just defending the 20.1, or saying they make the best amp ever. But niether does planet audio.

Welp thanks for the help guys....the IA is an animal in my other 2 friends cars but in mine just cant get anything out of it.

Im just thinking that eBay alt is full of s h i t,and not putting out much more than stock...soo ill be grabing a 220 Iraggi alt and see what she says than.

Did you change the LPF or is it set to the minimum?

To Packerfan: I believe Incriminator Audio has the second loudest vehicle in your state. Might wanna look into that if the product is SO horrible.
