Pistons vs. Heat - Possible Eastern Conference Championship Preview?

I hear ya.. Everytime Detroit beats someone, there is an excuse.

2003- 2nd round iverson was banged up

2004- 2nd round jason kidd was banged up

eastern conference finals jermaine o'neal was banged up

finals, well la just decided to play 5 awful games in a row after they had beat teams like san antonio and minnesota, who were supposedly better then detroit

2005- 2nd round artest gone and o'neal banged up again

eastern conference finals shaq and wade banged up

is it just me or do the pistons have incredible luck? they manage to play every team when their key players are injured. how come the pistons didn't make the excuse in 2003 that billups had a sprained ankle? rasheed had plantar flasicitis, the same injury duncan has now, when the pistons won the championship. also hamilton had a strained calf muscle last year

I am a Heat fan, but can say that Detroit is more consistant. If Miami comes with their A game, they will beat Detroit. If we get to the Conference finals and play Detroit, Miami CAN beat Detroit in a 7 game series, just like Detroit can do the same. This season in our losses to Detroit, it was becasue Detroit out played us. Last year in game 7, you have to admit that if Wade wasn't injured, as a matter of fact, if all 5 of our starters were not injured (mainly Wade), Miami would probably have taken game 7. But that was last year and old news. No injury excuses this time round.

i don't think miami for one thing is as good as last year. if miami was so sure they could've won, why overhaul their roster like they did? this injury excuse is getting old. miami had the pistons down 3-2 in the series and couldn't finish it. hell miami was leading in the 4th quarter of game 7 at their building and couldn't get it done. you mean to tell me that wade's injury caused the heat to loose a lead with like 6 minutes left in game 7?

No, but Wade is the clutch guy and the result would have been different. Like I said, The injury stuff was last year. This year, we were simply out played when we lost. (Please read the post.) I didn't say that Miami WILL win if they go to the conference final with Detroit, I stated that they CAN win. Yes, I agree that Miami was better last year and teh roster overhaul seemed extreme, but I, and teh fans are happy with our squad. When Miami plays to their potential, they are better then Detriot. Not to knock Detroit, because they are the BEST team this season. Miami has not been as good, because of their consistancy. Not lack of talent.

A Miami/Detroit series will again, be the best series in the playoffs no matter which team advances to the finals.

I have the up most respect for Detroit and Chauncie B. puts fear into all the fans in Miami.

One last thing. To say that injuries are just an excuse is pure ignorance. Put it this way. Wade in Miami's RE MT 18" going into a SPL comp and if the coils blow, are Miami's chances of winning still the same when they replace it with a Sony Xplode or a FunkyPup?

how can you say miami is the best team? detroit has a championship and 2 eastern conference titles. maimi has beaten a poor new jersey team and washington. the pistons have had injuries, but they don't use them as a scapegoat. richard hamilton was not healthy last playoffs. he could not run and move without the ball which is his game, as well with a strained calf muscle. didn't detroit beat shaq and payton and a good little 2 guard in the playoffs before?

well, miami has no one to match up on billups, mcdyess can handle haslem and mcdyess is a bench player. they got numerous big men to run at shaq (ben wallace, rasheed wallace, dale davis, kelvin cato, even mcdyess) they can also use hamilton, hunter, and prince on wade. miami bench isn't much better then detroit's. antoine walker can hoist as many 3's as pudgy *** will allow, but he is not a good player. if he ever decides to utilize his talents, then maybe, but he can shimy back to the offseason.
