PIONEER TWS3001-D2 people stop here!!!

Hey fellas I am having some hella trouble with this subwoofer.

My current setup was a ORION P12D2 dual 2ohm (1000/500rms) 12 inch subwoofer. My amp is a MTX 1501D (1500x1, 1000x2, 500x2). Head unit is a Pioneer DEHP5900.

Anyways the ORION was wired into a 4ohm load and absolutely HAMMERS my truck. Loudest thing I've heard. Although its about 5 years old now and keeps burning the wires at the voice coil connector. So I decided to buy the Pioneer because of all the hype.

So I installed the Pioneer at 1ohm and it absolutely sounds like horse crap! It isn't even 1/3 as loud as my Orion even though it has double the power from the same amp. It distorts like hell and only plays low notes on bass. Yes the gains and filters are set correctly.

I hooked up the Orion again with the truck in the driveway and rattled the windows on the house. The Pioneer won't even rattle the door on the truck.

Has anyone else had these problems??

^^x2 yea, maybe u missed the box...never heard the new model but if its anything like the old one that shouldnt happen...

althought that sub isnt capable of anything but low tones(the 3004spl) i mean

no experience with thw new ones but the 3004spl are hella loud won alot with 2 of em

It sounds like you wired the sub out of phase. Redo the wiring and then come back. When I say redo it, wire it so that you think you wired it out of phase -- don't just look at it and assume you were right.

my 3002 loved 2 @ 40hz. 4" Aero, 10" long.

The box is approx 1sq foot, maybe a little more. Almost exactly what it requires. I'm pretty sure that I don't have the wires crossed because I can still put my old Orion back in under a 4ohm load and it will rattle the windows of my house from the driveway. The Pioneer won't even rattle the F**@n door of the truck.
