Pioneer presets?

I have only been acustomed to the Alpine pre set buttons. I will be going with either the 880 or 980 and am wondering how do you save and navigate xm pre sets on these models?

Reason I ask is the wife will be using this one a lot and I live 80 miles away from a demo unit. Is it time consuming to get to frequently used features such as this on these units?

MultiControl knob. Does everything. From the manual...

1 When you find a station that you want

to store in memory, turn MULTI-CONTROL

to switch to the preset channel list mode.

2 Use MULTI-CONTROL to store the selected

station in memory.

Turn to change the preset number; press and

hold to store.

The number you have selected will flash in the

preset number list and then remain lit. The selected

radio station frequency has been stored

in memory.

# If you do not operate the list within about 30

seconds, the preset channel list mode is canceled

automatically.

If you don't have steering wheel controls (man I love having that), seek up/down is just a side push of that knob.

Also, it has 3 sets of 6 FM presets and 1 set of 6 AM's that you switch between with the band button.

I assume that you only get 6 presets for XM as well? That is all we use anymore. There is likely a harness for our Tahoe to retain the steering wheel controls....that would be easy alright.

I haven't used XM, but you're probably right. Call or e-mail Pioneer. They're good about returning e-mails.
