Pioneer Premier DEH-P580MP question

I have the head unit stated above, and I am having some problem getting the Aux source to work properly. When I turn the unit to aux and attempt play music from an mp3 player or computer or something it doesn't work. I was wondering if anyone knows what the problem might be and how to fix it? I just installed an SA-15 and it is causing the cds to skip when I turn it up so I need to be able to play music from an mp3 player.
