Pioneer Premier 4 channel amp setup

okay I have my components running off the front channels and the rear channels bridged to one 10 subwoofer. Now heres the problem it has a switch for 2 channel mode or 4 channel. But when I set it in 4 channel mode like it should be set the sub acts like it's only getting one channel of output. The bass response is weak. But when I switch it too 2 channel mode it's sound like it should. So my question is by running a 3 channel setup is this amp not made for this and just for 4 speaker hookup or am I missing something here.
